When I was young, Thanksgiving Day was the most exciting day of the entire year. Was it the turkey, the anticipation of Christmas?…..NO! It was the day that Santa’s Workshop in KAKEland started for the season. It came on every weekday at 4:30 until Christmas Eve. Toyboy and Santa would count down the days until they would go ZOOMING around the BIG WIDE WORLD. I still love watching the video. On Christmas Eve, Santa would read the real Christmas story to Toyboy and and all the viewers. It warms my heart and brings back warm memories of Christmas with my family.
If you live in Kansas, you can watch Santa read the Christmas story tonight, 5:00 p.m. on KAKE TV. They also have a FACEBOOK page. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Santa-and-KAKEman/195063609583
My memories of Christmas Eve are special as well. Sometimes we would get to catch Santa and Toyboy taking off with the reindeer, but usually we were too busy and missed it. After Christmas Eve service, we would come home, light a candle in an extra large cookie and sing Happy Birthday to Jesus. We would gather around our lighted tree with and turn out the rest of the lights in the house. My dad would read the story of Jesus’ birth from the Bible and then read The Night Before Christmas. We left Santa his cookies and milk and were off to bed.
Merry Christmas to all of you.
